Steven Barrett, the son of the woman who was killed, was arrested on an unrelated charge Wednesday.

“We’re not positive we’ll find anything in the lake,” Massee said. “We’re checking just for elimination purposes.”

Massee says he’s known Brantley-Barrett and her family for years and couldn’t imagine anything like that happening to her.

“I’ve known her almost my whole life. Very nice people. I know about three generations of her family. It’s a terrible tragedy,” Massee said.

Sandra’s son Steven Barrett — the one who found her body — was arrested Wednesday afternoon for an unrelated charge.

The state issued a restraining order against Steven for coming to Sandra’s house after a series of domestic issues according to Sheriff Massee.

Steven is charged with probation violation.

Sandra’s body is at the GBI crime for an autopsy.

This is an ongoing investigation. Keep checking 41NBC.com for updates to the story.
