Baldwin County deputies capture burglary suspects, one still at-large

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Baldwin County Sheriff’s patrol deputies arrested burglary suspects within nearly 15 minutes of the alleged store robbery.

Four people are accused of robbing several convenience stores in Baldwin County. Three were arrested, including a teenager. Deputies are searching for the fourth suspect.

The burglary happened Wednesday around 4 a.m. at the “Little Ol Country Store” located at 2119 North Jefferson Street in Milledgeville. Baldwin County Sheriff’s Capt. Brad King tells 41NBC a witness reported seeing four men and a white Toyota Scion parked at the store. The witness also reported the store’s glass door was shattered.

“While deputies were responding, a burglary alarm went off at the store,” said Capt. King.

Later deputies saw the suspects. After a brief chase, they arrested Avery Butler, Alejandro Alvarez, and a 16-year-old. King says each suspect is charged with multiple counts of burglary.

“We also found numerous items outside the vehicle that were more or less dropped or spilled out as everyone piled out of the car,” he continued.

King says they believe these suspects are responsible for other store break-ins throughout the county.

King adds Baldwin sheriff’s deputies are also investigating burglaries at Milledgeville Food and Gas on Highway 49 and Rob Stop and Shop on Allen Memorial Drive.
