Baldwin 7th grader to appear in court for bringing gun to school

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An Oak Hill Middle School student will appear in juvenile court for bringing a gun to school.

School staff members found the unloaded gun on Thursday and immediately told the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Bill Massee tells 41NBC the gun was taken away. He adds the student told investigators he brought the gun to school because he thought he was going to get into a fight with other students and wanted to scare them.

The 15-year-old was sent to The Regional Youth Development Center in Sandersville. He is expected to appear in juvenile court in Putnam County on Monday.
