Ava’s Law moves out of Senate Committee

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A committee recommends Senate Bill 1, also known as Ava’s Law, to move on to the state Senate Floor.

According to Ava’s mother, committee members talked to insurance companies about the potential cost of the medical coverage for children with Autism.  Insurance companies didn’t know the exact cost, but advocates for the law say their studies show the cost would be 33-cents per member per month.

Ava’s mother says the bill could go to the Senate Floor for a vote as early as this week.
