Attorney: Centerville Pastor Denies Molestation Allegations

CENTERVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The attorney for the Centerville pastor accused of molesting four girls says his client told him he is innocent.

Wiley Levertt, 54, is charged with three counts of child molestation and five counts of sexual battery.

“Mr. Leverett denies all the allegations against him,” said William Noland. “He denies that he’s done anything inappropriate with anyone, and we’re looking forward to the truth coming out in court.”

Leverett, the pastor of Solid Rock Community Church in Centerville, is accused of molestating four young girls.

He was released from the Houston County Jail Friday on a $25,000 bond with restrictions.

Noland said Leverett has to wear an electronic monitor. The pastor can only leave his home to go to his church or to his business Leverett Auto Sales in Warner Robins.

Noland didn’t want Leverett to have bond restrictions, but says his client will comply.

“These are just allegations,” said Noland. “He’s not been convicted of anything wrong and so we felt that he should be out on bond.”

Leveret turned himself in on Monday after the Houston County Sheriff’s Office let him know there was a warrant out for his arrest.

The lead investigator in the child molestation case, Sergeant Danny Glass, told 41 NBC the investigation started in November.

Noland is in the beginning stages of preparing for the pastor’s defense.

He said the pastor’s accusers are not from the same family.

The attorney added, Leverett has never been charged or arrested for anything in his life.
