Atrium Navicent Health recognizes Women’s Health Week
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)— It’s Women’s Health Week. Atrium Health Navicent is reminding women to make their health a priority.
This year’s theme is “Ending the Epidemic and Elevating Women’s Health.” Chief Medical Officer for Atrium Health Navicent, Dr. Patrice Walker, says focusing on women’s health is even more important with the pandemic still happening. She says women can improve or maintain their health in many ways.
“You can best do that by making sure you keep up with all of your screenings that are age appropriate screenings,” said Dr. Walker. “You know like mammography and pap smears but also things everybody could do regardless of age like eating a healthy diet, getting exercise, getting plenty of sleep.”
Dr. Walker urges women to get their COVID-19 vaccine. She also hopes they encourage their family members and friends to get vaccinated too.
