MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin welcomed its first baby of 2026 on New Year’s Day.

According to a news release, baby Siari was born at 9:40 a.m. Thursday at Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin. She weighed 5 pounds, 14.7 ounces and measured 18.5 inches long. Her parents are Samone Smith and Marquivious Rogers.

Hospital officials say welcoming the first baby of the year is always a meaningful moment for staff and families.

“We’re deeply honored by the trust families place in us during life’s most special moments,” said Laurie Meeks, RN, mother-baby nurse leader at Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin. “We are so proud to continuously provide safe, high-quality care to families throughout our community, and welcoming the first baby of the year is always a fun and special milestone for our team.”
