UPDATE: Arrests made in December shooting in Dexter that left man dead
Jeremiah and Taze Worthen were booked into the Laurens County Jail, according to the GBI.

UPDATE (5/6/26): The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced Wednesday the arrests of two people in connection with a murder in December 2025.
According to an update from the GBI, 18-year-old Jeremiah Terrell Worthen of Dublin and 19-year-old Taze Shaquor Worthen of Dublin are charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and kidnapping in connection with the murder of Joseph Burch on December 27.
Both were booked into the Laurens County Jail, according to the GBI.

DEXTER, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of a Dublin man after a shooting in Laurens County over the weekend.
According to the GBI, agents were called in at the request of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the death of 46-year-old Joseph Burch of Dublin.
Deputies were dispatched around 6:50 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 700 block of Shy Street in Dexter after a report of shots fired. When deputies got there, they found Burch unresponsive in the yard with multiple gunshot wounds.
Burch was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
