UPDATE: Arrest made in August shooting on Harrison Road that left man dead
Deputies say the victim was found with a gunshot wound and later died at the hospital.

UPDATE (9/30/25): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with a shooting last month that left a man dead.
According to a news release, Timothy Alan Hurt was arrested on Tuesday. He’s charged with murder.
Jail records show Hurt is 60 years old. He’s being held without bond.
UPDATE (9/1/25): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who died in a shooting Sunday morning on Harrison Road.
According to an updated news release, 46-year-old Nelson Reynolds Crenshaw of Fort Valley died. His family has been notified.
Deputies have not released additional details.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that happened Sunday morning on Harrison Road.
According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, at 9:24 a.m., a call came into the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center reporting that a male had been shot. Deputies responded to a wooded area in the 6000 block of Harrison Road and found the victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound, the sheriff’s office said.
Paramedics took the man to a medical facility for treatment, but Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley said the victim later died from his injuries. His name has not been released. No other injuries were reported.
The sheriff’s office said investigators are working to determine what led up to the shooting.
