MCRAE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The arraignment date is set for the man accused of killing a Marietta couple in Telfair County.

The Oconee Circuit District Attorney, Tim Vaughn, says Ronnie Towns will appear in front of a Telfair County Superior Court judge on June 25. He’s charged with felony murder and armed robbery.

Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson says in January, Towns shot 69 year-old Elrey “Bud” Runion and his 66 year-old wife, June. The Cobb County couple drove to Telfair County to check out a car they saw on Craigslist.

Their bodies and SUV were found in a lake. The GBI found pieces of possible evidence including guns and personal items investigators believe belonged to the Runions.
