Another weekend, another storm system for Middle Georgia

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A gulf low tracking through southeast Georgia will bring plenty of rain to Middle Georgia this weekend.
The Rest of the Evening
Cirrus clouds will continue to fill in over the region heading into tonight. It will be a bit warmer with winds from the northeast tonight likely gusting upwards of 15-20 mph. Lows will drop into the lower 40s for most of Middle Georgia. No rain is expected tonight, however some thicker clouds should arrive ahead of Saturday morning.
Saturday
It will be mostly cloudy tomorrow with showers likely to begin ahead of noon. Temperatures will reach into the upper 50s and lower 60s in the afternoon as wind gusts start to increase further out of the northeast, likely ranging from 20-25 mph. More widespread light rain is expected through the evening and into the overnight hours.
Overnight the heavier rain will move in, especially as Sunday morning draws closer. Winds will be rather strong as sustained speeds range from 10-25 mph from the north-northeast. The strongest winds will be in the southeastern parts of Middle Georgia. Gusts could push over 40 mph at times. Low temperatures will reach their peak of the week as they only fall into the lower 50s for most of the region.
Sunday and Beyond
Heavy rain will be ongoing as Sunday begins along with powerful winds. Gusts of over 40 mph will remain possible throughout much of the day. Highs again will reach the upper 50s for most of the region in the afternoon as rain begins to taper off. A few showers will remain during the evening with the greatest concentration of them likely over the eastern half of the region. Rain totals from Saturday night and Sunday morning will likely range from 3-5 inches around Middle Georgia. Flash flooding will be possible, especially in low lying areas.
Overnight cloud cover should begin to break up a bit with the last of the rain moving out. It will remain windy, however the winds will now be from the northwest after the passing of the low. Sustained speeds of 15-25 mph will be likely with gusts ranging from 35-40 mph throughout the night.
Sunnier conditions should return Monday with strong breezes lingering into the early parts of next week.
