This Evening and Overnight

A warm and partly sunny afternoon will see cloud cover increase after the sunset. Temperatures will remain very warm (upper 60s/lower 70s) leading up to the arrival of thunderstorms. The wind will be light and variable although a few strong gusts outside of storms will be possible.

As for the storms the northwestern third of Middle Georgia is included in a Level 1 “Marginal” threat for severe activity. The primary concern is damaging wind gusts upwards of 70 mph. These would be most likely to occur in any cluster of storms that begins to bow. The northwestern parts of the region should see the storms arrive between 10pm and midnight EDT. The southern counties of Middle Georgia could completely miss out on the rain, however.

More heat and sunshine is likely Tuesday with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s. A handful of clouds are expected but the overall number of them should be limited. The wind will flow from the southwest at 5-10 mph.

Overnight will be partly cloudy with fog likely leading into Wednesday morning. A stray shower or two will be possible but overall rain odds are very slim. Wind will be light from the southwest and low temperatures should mostly be in the low to mid 60s.

Wednesday and Beyond

It will feel like early summer come Wednesday afternoon with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s across most of Middle Georgia. The hottest locations may graze 90! Skies will overall be partly cloudy and the wind will continue to flow from the southwest. Expect it to be a bit breezier though with sustained speeds ranging 10-15 mph and gusts reaching 20-25 mph. A few showers or perhaps a storm will be possible during the late evening but more widespread storms are likely leading into Thursday morning. These may need to be monitored for some severe potential.
