Another Airline to Service Middle Georgia

An airline company is partnering up with Middle Georgia Regional Airport. Vision Airlines will soon be flying out of Macon and into the Sunshine State.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday. According to Vision Airlines Chief Operating Officer David Meers, “Some airfare will be as low as $49 one way.”

The plan is to offer Middle Georgians a more regional option to fly. Vision will be departing from Macon and flying to Destin, FL. The first flight leaves March 25th.

The Mayor’s Director of External Affairs Andrew Blascovich explains the vision. He says, “When you add additional commercial service that’s an even better resource for the Middle Georgia area.”

Middle Georgia Regional Airport Manager Scott Coffman says, “I think when folks see they can book a ticket for the price that they’re offering, $49 and be in Destin in an hour…sounds like a pretty attractive deal to me.”

Meers says the flights include bigger jets, non-stop flights and more affordable airfare.

Vision Airlines has been around for more than 16 years. Middle Georgia Regional Airport will still offer flights through Georgia Skies.
