Annual Film Festival Underway in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon Film Festival brought hundreds of film enthusiast from all over the country on Thursday.

One family was thrilled to be back.

“I just feel welcomed here in Macon,” Tendal Mann said. “I feel like I’m coming back to somewhere I know really well.”

Tendal Mann’s mother, Sheri Mann Stewart was happy to bring her sons, who participate in a host of different types of films and writing. She says the event has a variety of different benefits.

“I try to meet other filmmakers and see what interests we have and maybe we want to do something together,” Mann said. She directed a film that shows at the film festival.

Julie Wilkerson directs the event. She says it’s a great way to support independent films.

“You’re gonna see a lot of different variety, and you can’t go to the movie theater and see shorts. We have some really good narrative features. You’re not gonna see them in a movie theater, ” Wilkerson said.
