Animal Welfare hosts blood drive, to hold adoption event
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare is doing its part to help people and their pets. On Friday, a blood drive and Saturday, an adoption fair.
American Red Cross and shelter volunteers spent the afternoon signing residents up to give blood.
Volunteer Mendy Harrison says even though their specialty is working with pets, making sure humans are healthy is another way they’re proud to help Macon-Bibb residents.
“Blood especially in the summer months is always in shortage so it’s just a good way to give back to the community.”
Residents can get a good look at some of the animals they have that need homes at the adoption fair on Saturday. It starts at noon and ends at 4:00 PM.
