Animal shelter holds fundraiser sale despite rainy conditions

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Rainy weather did not put a damper on a monthly yard sale held Saturday for Bibb County animals.

On the first Saturday of each month, All About Animals rescue shelter hosts the sale.

You can find all kinds of unique items from clothes to housewares to furniture.

Dogs barked as people shopped for bargains.

Della Smith has volunteered at the shelter for nearly three years.

“The yard sale benefits the animals,” says Smith. “So rain, snow, whatever we’re gonna be here and that’s what we want to do is be here for the animals. One hundred percent of the proceeds goes toward them.”

The money raised from the yard sale will cover the cost of food and medical care for the dogs and cats. The funds will also be used to pay for the upkeep of the animal shelter.
