Canoe launch at Amerson River Park to close July 8-9 for construction
Crews will be pouring concrete and asphalt as part of the North Amerson Extension project, with the launch expected to reopen July 10.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The canoe launch at the north river access of Amerson River Park will be closed Tuesday, July 8, and Wednesday, July 9, as contractors work on a new parking lot.
According to a news release from Macon-Bibb County, the temporary closure is part of the North Amerson Extension project. Crews will be pouring concrete and asphalt near the canoe launch during the two-day period.
The north river access, located at 2551 Pierce Drive N, is expected to reopen on Thursday, July 10. The county said the other two river access points at the park will remain open during the work.
