Ambulance accident sends paramedics to hospital

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – There was an accident early Tuesday morning involving two ambulances on Interstate 16.

Paramedic Michael Hanner was driving one of the ambulances, when he blacked out and hit the ambulance he was following.

Hanner’s ambulance then caught on fire, but he was able to escape with the help of paramedic John Cleaves, who was driving the other ambulance.

Both paramedics were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.

No one else was injured during the accident.
