Democrat Doug Jones beats Roy Moore in Alabama U.S. Senate race

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (41NBC/WMGT) – Democrat Doug Jones has won the election to the U.S. Senate from Alabama, beating out embattled Republican Roy Moore, according to the Associated Press.

Moore’s campaign was dealt a significant blow when the former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court was accused of sexual misconduct against teenage girls. Moore denied those allegations.
