Twiggs County introduces new football coach

JEFFERSONVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)  – Twiggs County has a new head football coach.

Kelvin Blackshear is the Cobras’ seventh head since since 2010. The Twiggs County graduate takes over for Zackery Harris, who resigned after one 0-10 season.

Blackshear has 10 years of coaching experience in middle school and college.

“The first thing I want to do is get the kids to commit to the Cobra,” he said at a meet and greet Thursday at Jeffersonville Elementary School. “Like I told them earlier, I’m a Cobra. I committed to it first. They’re a Cobra, they need to commit to it now.”

Blackshear plans to make discipline a priority.
