Wilkinson County Schools put on lock down
IRWINTON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Wilkinson County School system was placed on lock down Wednesday morning for one hour due to a threat to a staff member.
According to a news release from the school system, there was an external threat to a staff member, so schools were placed on lock down until police confirmed there were no threats to the students and staff.
Sheriff Richard Chatman told 41NBC that the threat was to a staff member at Wilkinson County Primary School.
The school system did not release what the threat was.
No one was hurt during the lock down.
