Forest Hill road construction proposals
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Forest Hill road will soon be widening to three lanes. This according Macon-Bibb leaders who made the announcement at a public information meeting today.
The road is known for backing up traffic from Forsyth and Wimbish roads and can be dangerous when drivers are turning. Macon-Bibb County representatives displayed two possible layouts for the intersection of Forest Hill and Wimbish road.
“We want to put in, either an enhanced traffic signal on Wimbish road or a roundabout there that will be safer normally than a traffic signal,” said county engineer, David Fortson.
Also proposed, are sidewalks along Forest Hill road.
The meeting allowed people to get a look at plans for the road as well as put their input in. Once a decision is made, estimated construction time will be about two years.
