Restaurant owner aims to recover after Warner Robins fire
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Adriana Ivanus had to be at work at one of her restaurants Wednesday.
“I put my blood in each location,” said Ivanus. “I have to be here.”
Because it took her mind off of what happened to her other location Tuesday night.
“By the time I got there, the fire, the flames were high in the sky,” said Ivanus.
Her restaurant Greek Village as well as Oceans Nightclub began burning around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday.
“I got phone calls, not one, phone calls–customers watching my business,” said Ivanus. “Thank God for that.”
Warner Robins Fire Chief Ross Moulton says it took hours for firefighters to put the fire out on N. Commercial Circle near Davis Dr. and Watson Boulevard.
“I thought there was nothing that was going to be left from the building,” said Ivanus.
Fortunately, no one was inside.
“I’m so thankful that nobody got hurt,” said Ivanus.
Chief Moulton says it’ll take awhile for investigators to figure out how it happened.
Ivanus says it was a long night.
“It is tough, I’m still shaking,” said Ivanus. “I cannot eat, I sit down to eat a little bit like a few minutes ago when you were eating, it’s like coming back, I can’t. It’s very tough.”
She took some photos and looked at the damage herself.
“Just the building, and whatever was inside,” said Ivanus. “That can be recovered.”
She’ll recover and hopes to start another location soon.
“Definitely I’m going to look for another location–that won’t be anytime soon,” said Ivanus. “We’ll know soon, probably.”
Until then–she keeps a good attitude at her Watson Boulevard Greek Village location.
“I was born to smile–I think so–and to have a good time,” said Ivanus.
