Warner Robins makes Top 100 for Hispanic Entrepreneurs
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Warner Robins is being recognized for its Hispanic business owners in the area. According to a national report from GoodCall, the city was ranked 88 of 381 on “2016 Best Places for Hispanic Entrepreneurs”.
Many Hispanic business owners have contributed to this recognition like, Javier Magaña, owner of El Bronco restaurant. He’s been running the business alongside his family since 2000.
“This place is his life, he’s worked so hard for this place,” Javier’s daughter, Yadira Magaña said. “He’s just a very successful man that’s worked for everything.”
Yadira couldn’t help but smile when she spoke about her dad and how proud she was that Warner Robbins was getting recognized.
“It’s always wonderful when the whole community as a whole succeeds and the city gets larger,” Yadira said. “But as a Latina, there’s a little more pride in that.”
This news not only excites business owners, but makes the city very proud.
April Bragg, President of Robins Regional Chamber said how honored she felt when she heard the news, but sees why the city was ranked.
“Warner Robins is known as ‘The International City’ and I think there are a lot of driving forces behind what makes this a great place for Hispanic entrepreneurs and people starting out in businesses in general to come here,” Bragg said.
Many business owners like Monica Pirela, who runs a Hispanic magazine called ‘Medientorno’, came to Warner Robins because of the opportunities in the city.
“Warner Robins has a lot of advantages,” Pirela said. “It’s a very small place, but it offers you a lot of opportunities to grow.”
Warner Robins was placed in the top 100 because of its strong educational values for Hispanics, networking potential and its large amount of Hispanic business owners.
The report was launched in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, where they recognized the contributions Hispanics have made to the United States.
