(CNN)- Fans of the long-running Grand Theft Auto franchise now have a date to mark on their calendars.

Rockstar Games announced that preorders for Grand Theft Auto VI will begin June 25, releasing the news alongside a short video showcasing the game’s cover art.

The highly anticipated title is expected to be one of the biggest entertainment launches in history.

“It’s predicted to be the biggest entertainment product that humans have ever created across any medium, and it costs billions of dollars to make,” one gaming analyst said. “It’s taken more than a decade to get here.”

Rockstar has already generated enormous interest with the game’s first two trailers, which have combined for more than 446 million views on YouTube.

The release comes more than 13 years after Grand Theft Auto V debuted, making it one of the longest waits between major entries in the franchise.

“Grand Theft Auto Five has crossed three console generations,” an industry expert noted. “We can expect the same thing here with Grand Theft Auto Six.”

The game is scheduled to launch Nov. 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, with a PC release expected to follow.

Some industry observers also believe the game could eventually be released for Nintendo’s next-generation hardware.

After multiple delays, gamers are hopeful the November launch date will finally bring the next chapter of one of the best-selling video game franchises ever created.
