Coach’s Corner: Dooly County looking to improve on 7-4 record
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Dooly County Bobcats are coming off of a 7-4 season which saw them finish 6-2 during regional play.
The Bobcats lost in the first round of the playoffs, losing to Clinch County 30-8.
Dooly will play in Region 4-A, with Crawford County, Hawkinsville, Macon County, Schley County, and Taylor County.
This is Jimmy Hughes seventh season as head coach, and has never had a losing record during his tenure.
OFFENSE:
The offense for the Bobcats averaged 24.6 points-per-game during 2015.
They will be returning sophomore quarterback Bo Lawson, who started the last six games of the year last season.
Running back Stevie Rhodes is a senior, and he rushed for over 1,200 yards in 2015.
DEFENSE:
The defense allowed 20.9 points-per-game last season.
They will have seven starters returning, however, they have lost three defensive linemen.
FIRST GAME: At Crisp County on August 19th.
