Keeping Organized: Using an unused piece of real estate
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Do you have a sinking feeling that you’re running out of room in your house to store all of your gathering stuff? No problem, because there’s a solution! Personal organizer Andi Willis is back to tell us about an important piece of real estate in the home that always seems to go unused: your door.
Or rather, what you can put on the door: an ordinary shoe organizer.
An organizer with clear pockets can be attached to the door frame, and used to store more than just shoes. Andi suggests you can put one in your children’s room to help keep their toys from getting all over the place. The pockets are the right size to keep stuffed animals, action figures, or Barbie dolls in neat order and not in a place where they can be stepped on or lost.
Next up is the office. A shoe organizer can be a perfect holder for desktop items like pens and pencils, sticky notepads, or computer cables and cords.
Keeping one in the bathroom can be a good storage place for extra beauty supplies, like hairspray, shampoo containers, bars of soap, and other everyday toiletries.
Cleaning supplies, bug repellent, pet items, towels and washcloths can also be placed in the pockets of an organizer. Even clothing items like socks and underwear, or belts and scarves will fit.
