Showers/storms enter Middle Georgia tonight, pleasant cooldown follows

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Today will be the warmest day of the week. The high will be around 76 despite the increase in cloud cover we’re expecting throughout the afternoon.

Then a cold front arrives tonight and cools things down.

The front arrives between 9pm and 11pm. There’s a marginal chance for severe weather with gusty winds being the main concern. However, don’t expect any widespread severe storms — only a few, if any.

The front pushes through overnight, which means by tomorrow morning, the clouds will be leaving and a pleasant breeze kicks in from the northwest. Expect a significant cooldown Wednesday with a high around 59.

A low pressure system arrives Thursday night and moves through the area overnight into Friday. After that, the weather dries just in time for the weekend.
