Radiation Vacation takes center ice at Mayhem game Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Last month, we told you about Radiation Vacation.

It’s a charity a Macon family started six years ago to help families who have kids battling cancer. Money raised helps families do fun things like attending sporting events and visiting mus eums while their loved ones are going through treatment.

Michael Slavin, the founder of that charity, has a cool fundraiser coming up during the Macon Mayhem’s game Friday against Pensacola.

In one of the intermissions, he’ll shoot 20 pucks from center ice. He’s hoping you will donate a few bucks for each shot he makes.

“It’ll be tough,” Slavin told 41NBC in January. “But playing hockey for a long time, I’m fairly certain I can do at least 15.”

The puck drops Friday at 7:30. Visit Radiation Vacation’s Facebook page for more information.
