Heavy rain rolls through Middle Georgia late tonight

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures are a lot higher today, particularly in the morning, ahead of much rainfall that’ll move into Middle Georgia tonight.

If you haven’t stepped outside yet, know that this morning is chilly but not quite as cold as the 20s we woke up to yesterday. Our high will still be cooler than average at around 59 (average is 61), but it’s the morning when the higher temperatures are most pronounced.

Skies will be a lot cloudier today, and this afternoon, there’s a potential for isolated light showers.

So when will the heavy rain enter? An approaching front brings rainfall into the area this evening. I’m pegging the arrival around 7 or 8 starting in our western counties, and this system will take several hours to leave. By early tomorrow morning — and by early, I mean midnight/1am — most of the moisture will be gone.

Once sunrise hits, we actually could actually see the sun as much of the cloud cover will have moved east. The low tomorrow morning will be in the mid 40s.
