Cold, Canadian air visits us this weekend, plunging temperatures again

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Friday’s still a cool day, but overall, it’s quite a bit warmer than yesterday. We jumped from the 20s yesterday morning to the 30s this morning, and those of you in the southern parts of our viewing area — Wheeler, Telfair, Wilcox, Dooly, etc. — even started the day in the upper 40s/low 50s!

Despite the increased cloud cover today, highs will be in the mid 60s, and then low 50s/upper 40s this evening. Clouds decrease during the second half of the day.

Then the cooldown arrives as a cooler air mass moves into Georgia this weekend. While tomorrow morning will be typical — 33 for a morning low — the afternoon features upper 40s/low 50s. Same with Valentine’s Day on Sunday. Humidity will also plunge this weekend.

On Monday evening, a wave of moisture pushes into the area. Latest models are showing half an inch to an inch of rain. This lasts through Tuesday morning, and then clears out Tuesday afternoon.
