Weather clears just in time for the weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Ah, sunshine. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Not only does the sun return, but we enjoy much cooler temperatures this weekend as well.

Now that the cold front has moved far away from us, high pressure builds to our north. That’ll keep us high and dry the whole weekend. Temperatures will warm only slightly. To put it in perspective, our highs the next three days:

Friday: 53
Saturday: 55
Sunday: 58

Overnight lows will drop to the cold 20s starting tonight.

Early next week, expect a deep trough to dig into the southeast, yanking our highs down to the 40s by Tuesday. So far, I’m seeing just a small chance of rain Monday, which is absolutely nothing compared to the rain we received this week.

Otherwise, the entire 7-Day is dry, and that second cooldown — with the highs in the 40s Tuesday and Wednesday and overnight lows in the 20s — will bring much colder than average temperatures for February.
