With the rain leaving today, high pressure brings dry weather just in time for the weekend
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Showers are still moving through Middle Georgia — particularly counties south of I-16 — this morning. However, the showers become sparser and lighter late in the morning. By the afternoon, most of the rain will have moved out of the area, but I still think those of you in Wheeler, Telfair and Truetlen counties could see some showers.
Cloud cover will decrease throughout the afternoon and evening as this front heads out of the state. By tomorrow morning, sunshine returns and the temperatures will be far chillier. We’re looking at a morning low of 30 tomorrow, and with the winds picking up to double digits, expect a wind chill that’ll make it feel like it’s in the 20s.
High pressure takes over this weekend, leaving us with beautiful sunshine and cool highs in the 50s. Lows will be in the upper 20s and low 30s.
Heads up for early next week: we’re anticipating a deep trough that’ll dig into the southeast and bring very chilly temperatures. I’m talking highs in the 40s starting Tuesday, and we’ll see if they go further down from there.
