Youth in the community learn both sides of the law
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Teens in Warner Robins learned how police spend their days fighting crime.
First Baptist Church held its annual Youth Law Summit Saturday.
Kids talked with lawyers and police officers about their daily routines.
They learned what to do when getting pulled over and how to conduct themselves when being questioned.
“We’re trying to be proactive instead of our children being reactive,” says Ira Childers. “We want our children to have information and knowledge so that if they are stopped by the police they will be able to know and understand what things they should do and what they should be able to know and understand what decisions to make if they are stopped.”
Event organizers plan to hold a similar event in February at Westside High School.
