WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A new high school stadium is coming to Warner Robins.

The Houston County Board of Education broke ground on the $10.9 million ESPLOST project Tuesday morning. Beth McLaughlin said the stadium will serve Veterans High School and Houston County High School. It will be located at 111 Bear Country Boulevard in Warner Robins.

Under Georgia High School Association standards, the stadium will have 6,102 seats. McLaughlin expects the stadium to be open in August 2016. The last stadium built in Houston County was McConnell Talbert in 1971.
