Crimestoppers tip leads to aggravated assault arrest

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Crimestoppers tip led to arrest of a wanted aggravated assault suspect.

35-year-old Verconus Redding was arrested on Eisenhower Parkway. He was wanted for multiple shootings in May.

The first shooting happened May 18, at a home on Goodwin Drive. According to a news release by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Redding attempted to enter the house when the resident slammed the door on his arm. Redding began shooting, injuring two people inside.

The second shooting took place at the M&M Food Store on Montpelier Avenue on May 30. Deputies say Redding fired several shots at a vehicle parked at the store. No was injured in the incident.

Redding is also charged with parole and probation violations. He is being held in the Bibb County jail.

Both incidents are still under investigation.
