GBI: 4-year-old Bibb County girl’s death ruled as a homicide
According to 41NBC’s past reports, the incident happened at 9 a.m. on Sunday, March 22 at a home on Ivy Brook Way. Parents Jason and Jody Rigby told investigators their daughter, Carlene Rigby, went to bed around 9 p.m. Saturday. When her dad went to wake her up for church the next morning, he found her in bed with the cord from the window blind wrapped around her neck.
Jones tells 41NBC Carlene died from asphyxia due to strangulation. The manner of death is homicide.
Lt. Sean DeFoe with the Bibb Sheriff’s Office tells 41NBC investigators have not made an arrest in this case. It is an ongoing investigation.
Investigators submitted their findings to the Bibb County District Attorney’s Office. District Attorney David Cooke tells 41NBC the case is “still under investigation.”
