Fantastic weekend weather is in the forecast

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Our dry pattern is going to continue for a while. As I did yesterday, this write-up is going to be shorter than usual simply due to the quiet pattern we’re enjoying.

A cool front moves out of our area today, and the biggest thing you’ll notice won’t be the temperatures; it’ll be the wind. Winds pick up to 10 – 15 mph with gusts potentially up to 20 or 25 from the northwest. Sunshine remains today, but highs will rise only to the upper 70s.

Over the weekend, winds shift from the north to the south. That’ll allow warmer Gulf air to enter the area and help raise our temperatures. Expect 80s to start returning tomorrow and become more widespread by Sunday. Temperatures continue to warm into next week with some mid-80s expected for highs by Thursday. Overnight lows shift from the 40s tonight to 50s next week.
