It may take a while for the rain to come back in full force

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Dry weather and more sunshine continue this week with only a couple exceptions. A dry air mass continues to make its home in Middle Georgia, which means today is another day with lots of sunshine to enjoy.

Tomorrow, a cool front moves through the area, increasing our cloud cover and bringing just a few showers throughout the state. Highs will be in the mid 70s, and by Friday, the sunshine returns with seasonable upper 70s for your highs!

Saturday’s when things change: waves of moisture move through our area, bringing showers and storms into the state. Right now, severe weather doesn’t look to be a huge issue, although the CAPE (convective available potential energy) is high enough so far that severe storms can’t be ruled out. Overall, it looks like your normal marginal risk for severe storms in Middle Georgia, which should be taken seriously but isn’t a cause for major concern.

By Sunday, we dry out again, and the highs bump up to the low to mid 80s.
