Winter returns this weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Are you hoping for one more gasp of winter air? If so, your wish is granted. It’s a bit too early to say it will be the last gasp of winter, but it’s typically a lot harder this time of the year to see the cooldown we’re about to see.

An approaching cold front is currently dumping plenty of rain from Arkansas through Ohio and Michigan. As it approaches the southeast, we’ll continue to see widespread cloud cover and a chance for isolated showers this afternoon. The chance for rain increases overnight with skies clearing tomorrow.

As far as temperatures go, tomorrow morning will be warm in the mid 50s, but temperatures won’t get much warmer tomorrow afternoon — highs will be in the mid 60s. In addition to the cooler temperatures, winds will shift to the northwest, bringing cooler, drier northern air into Middle Georgia. This will happen overnight. Combined, Friday will deliver to us a dry, breezy and cool afternoon.

The weekend will also be dry and lovely. Enjoy anything Cherry Blossom!
