Thrilling finish ends in 79-77 loss for Bobcat men
Tied 77-77, Emmanuel Tiluscar took a pass in the left corner with time ticking down and rattled home the game-winner. Tiluscar finished with 12 points.
Senior Larrentis Thomas (McDonough) went 9-for-13 on multiple acrobatic slashes to the hole, finishing with 21 points and five boards, his third career 20-point game.
Junior Terrell Harris (Indiantown, Florida) was a box-score filler with 14 points, six boards and three assists. Rounding out the double-digit scorers was Ryan Blumenthal (Kennesaw) at 10 points, including a pair of threes.
The Bobcats controlled much of the first half, surrendering the lead just once. The Pirates finished the half on an 8-0 run however, cutting the Georgia College lead to just 41-40 at the horn. Thomas led the Bobcats in scoring at the break with nine points.
Georgia College out-shot the Pirates 53 percent (27-51) to 48 percent (27-56) from the field. Armstrong pulled out the win due in part to a 36-29 advantage on the glass, and a 19-17 lead in free-throws made.
Trey Suttles led the Pirates with 18 points, Shaquiell Mitchell added 16.
The Bobcats are back in action Monday, Jan. 19 at 3:30 p.m., hosting Flagler College.
