Tattnall boys start 11-1, play Wilkinson County Tuesday
Jarvis Smith took over for the program’s jump to the GHSA. Smith coached at Brewton-Parker College the last two seasons.
You’d think a jump to the GHSA and all the changes that come with a new head coach would make for a tough start, right?
Well, you’d be wrong.
The Trojans are 11-1 but will see a big challenge Tuesday when two-time defending Class A champ Wilkinson County pays a visit.
“You’ve got to be excited,” Smith says. “It doesn’t get any bigger than this on this level. Two-time defending state champ, back to back. I told them in the circle before we broke up, ‘If you’re competitive juice is not flowing right now. . . you should be excited.'”
The Trojans host the Warriors, who are 8-2 after a loss to Stratford last week, Tuesday around 7:30.
