FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is working to determine how a man, who’s body was discovered on Thanksgiving Day, died.
Monroe County Coroner, Joey Proctor said 71-year-old Samuel McGahee’s decomposed body was found in his McGahee Way cabin home.
McGahee’s brother-in-law made the gruesome discovery around 10 a.m.
“He had been there several weeks,” said Proctor. “I don’t know exactly how long.”
Proctor added, the cabin is in a sub-division where most of the McGahee family resides. He described Samuel McGahee as a recluse.
“He didn’t have much contact with the outside world.”
An autopsy is scheduled for McGahee’s body at the GBI crime lab in DeKalb County.
