Greyhound Bus brawl lands two men behind bars
The incident happened Tuesday around 1 p.m., at the Greyhound Bus station located at 65 Spring Street in Macon.
Gene Tene, 43, and Michael Joshua Costello, 19, were upset because their family from Naperville, Ill., missed a Greyhound Bus while taking a 15 minute break at the Macon bus terminal.
Witnesses say the men cussed and argued with Greyhound bus personnel and then shattered a glass window that was between bus clerks and customers.
When a Bibb County Sheriff’s deputy tried to break-up the argument, the men turned their anger on the deputy and attempted to fight the deputy.
Tene and Costello were arrested after more deputies arrived at the bus station.
Tene was charged with Criminal Damage to Property, first Degree, Simple Battery Against a Police Officer, and Willful Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer.
Tene is being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center with a $7,000 bond.
Costello was charged with Criminal Damage to Property second degree and Willful Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer-misdemeanor. Costello is being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center with a $3,700 bond.
The deputy was not injured in the fight.
