Early voting ends for November primary election
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Early voting around the state wrapped up on Friday, and hundreds headed to the polls.
Crowds packed the Macon-Bibb County Board of Elections to cast their ballots.
In the last several days, more people have voted in Macon-Bibb than they have since early voting began.
Elections Supervisor Jeanetta Watson says she expects that trend to continue on election day next week.
“Our poll managers are ready and waiting for voters to come in and start voting. We anticipate a heavy turnout at the polls,” Watson said.
Watson says this year’s early voter turnout is a different than four years ago.
More people cast their ballots in 2010.
Voters have 45 days to vote early instead of the three weeks voters had this time around.
Election day is Tuesday, November 4th. Polls open at 7 a.m.
