CGTC graduates more than three thousand students in a year

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local technical college is getting some recognition for graduating more than three thousand students in a year.

Central Georgia Technical College reached a milestone. according to the, Technical College System of Georgia, CGTC is the first college to graduate 3,300 students in a year.

School officials say its high enrollment stems from a large number of non-tradtional students, as well as its a variety of classes being offered online.

“We have what we call accelerated opportunities meaning that while you’re seeking your GED you also can be enrolled in some credit college classes as well,” says Craig Jackson, Vice President of Student Affairs.

Jackson says CGTC’s recruiters, also visit middle schools, to encourage students to remain in school, graduate from high school and consider attending CGTC.
