Jones County Special Education teachers to receive new technology

Jones County special education teachers are about to get access to new technology.

GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)  – Jones County special education teachers are about to get access to new technology.

Atlanta-based VocoVision will provide the district with two 24-inch touchscreen workstations teachers can use for lessons.

“There’s just unlimited resources that they’re able to tap into, to keep that student engaged to reach those goals,” Nicole Webb, a VocoVision Division Director said. “So really the sky is kind of the limit on what they’re able to use.”

A news release from VocoVision says, “The touchscreen technology makes it easy for students to use so they spend more time interacting with speech pathologists and occupational therapists. With a tap on the screen, students can effortlessly respond to their teachers, which results in increased engagement and improved outcomes. The workstations also arrive with pre-installed software that features an easy-to-use interface – and no competing applications – so students can quickly log-on and begin each session. “

The workstations are expected to arrive in the next two weeks.
