WRALL wins first two pool play games
Saturday’s game, originally scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch, was pushed back until 6:30 because of heavy rains. Despite the long delay, WRALL’s bats came alive in a 15-7 win over Murphey Candler.
WRALL looked even more impressive Sunday afternoon. Jacob Profit’s grand slam in the first inning gave the tournament hosts a 4-0 lead and they never looked back, beating Franklin County 12-1 in a game that was shortened to four innings.
“We know it’s going to get tougher,” assistant coach Buddy Deal says. “It’s going to be really tough tomorrow (Monday). We want to continue to have good at-bats. When you walk up to the plate, you’ve got to have a plan. We want to continue to get better at that as a team. We’re working on it. We’re getting better, but there’s always room for improvement.”
WRALL faces Martinez Evans American Monday at 6.
