Forsyth Police warns merchants about fake gift cards circulating in Middle Georgia

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three people are behind bars, after trying to use more than 100  fake gift cards to buy cartons of cigarettes.

Drissa Doumbia of Atlanta, Arthur Burks and Octavious Jones both of Forest Park have been arrested for their involvement in two different incidents.

Forsyth police warn all store owners to be on the look out for people using multiple gift cards.

“If any of these retailers have customers come in attempting to use these varied gift cards to purchase cigarettes, possibly, just beware and know to call us if they suspect anything,” said Forsyth Police Maj. David Brown of the Criminal Investigation Division.

Police are working to determine if both of the cases are related.
