Houston County Farmer’s Market exclusively for WIC participants

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Local farmers are offering a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables
during the fifth annual WIC farmers market.

More than 100 people lined up this morning an hour before the farmer’s market opened for its first day in Warner Robins.
Participants were given $30 WIC vouchers to grab fresh produce.

The Houston County Farmer Market’s Manager, Cindy Carroll says they are expecting around 800 people this week.

“It’s great to see all the people come out and participate,” says Carroll. “All the hard work that we put into farmer’s market. It’s well worth it because of the people that showed up to the market.”

This year’s farmer’s market offered curb side service for people who were unable, or had difficulty standing in line.

The WIC farmer’s market will continue Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
